A few words which can be applied to the bandswitches in all T-T rigs.
The white plastic CTS switch wafers, either the axial or radial PC
mount style, are almost never the cause of b/s problems. Sometimes a
bad solder joint at the board, a loose coupling, or a bad crystal will
be the culprit. NEVER clean or lubricate the switch wafers. They are
protected by a special lubricant/anti-oxidant which if removed, will
cause failure of the switch function in a short time. A little new
grease on the chassis mounted switch detent of an old radio is good -
     Jim's comments are perfect.
