TenTec crystal filters

Anyone play with the filters for the OMNI ?  I would like to open
up the SSB side of things, having the standard filters at, say,
2.9 KHz bandwidth rather than the 2.4 KHz that come with the rig.

I have looked over Wes Hayward's 1987 QST stuff and it looks like
the right combination of caps should do it, but I need to read 
up a bit more or start experimenting.  Any partners in crime?
