Omni VI and NA 9.29

A couple of days ago, I got the wild idea of interfacing my Omni VI
and NA 9.29 software together. Seemed pretty straightforward.
First, found a difference between Ten-Tec's and LTA's recommended
cable connector pinouts. I opted for Ten-Tec but found that didn't
work, so rewired for the LTA pinout.
When I boot up the computer and turn on the radio (or vice versa), and
log on to a contest, the band comes up as 160m despite what band I may
be on on the Omni. I have no manual band change control
(Alt-f1/alt-f2); changing bands on Omni keypad does not change
anything on the computer.
There are the commands RADIO and NORADIO that NA says can be used,
but when typed in the message VALID CALLSIGN REQUIRED or some
such is given.
I have tried various settings of the Omni's C-Id.
I have tried various Icom Transceiver settings (IC-735 is supposed to
be the one to use when using the Omni VI, right?) I have tried Cde ON
and Cde OFF I have tried various baud rates I have verified the
comport and interrupt I have checked and rechecked my cable/connector
wiring I have sent a note to K3LR (no response yet, but its only been
two or three days)
I did turn everything on yesterday morning and lo and behold! it
worked ... for a short while...until I mistakenly thought to try and
see if it would work with something changed. It stopped working;
locked band on 160 on the software. Even after undoing the 'change' I
had made and turning everything off for a while, then rebooting, it
still doesn't work.
Guidance anyone?
If you are using NA and Omni VI interfaced through the
DB-25 port, I would be interested to know what your User
Options settings are on your Omni and the settings on your
NA, so I can compare and see where I may be going amiss.
Oh yeah! My keying interface from the computer (com2) to the key input
on the Omni works great, as it has for years.
