PM series side panel repair

I have a Ten-Tec power mite where I need to rework the side panels at the
points where the screws go through the top panel (top & rear) to anchor the
top panel into the plastic side panels. There is too much clearance and the
screws don't anchor into the side panels. Short of trying to replace the
side panels, can anyone think of a kind of plastic (or procedure) I could use
to remake the plastic at the mounting points so the original type self-tapping
screws (I think #2 size) will work again? I thought of RTV but that would
probably not be stiff enough.

Alternatively, has anyone been able to buy these panels new from ten-tec
lately? (I know ten-tec is wonderful about honoring old parts, but this is
getting far-fetched with a 25 year old box).
