[TenTec] Best Transceiver to Buy

Advice requested......

A good friend wants to buy a Ten-Tec transceiver.  The following
requirements exist:

solid state
all bands
digital display

What about the Corsair I and II?  Ten-Tec says they are very good.
Comments and approximately $$ please.

Anybody have a chronological history of when their rigs were manufactured?
