[TenTec] Paragon question

I'm thinking about looking for a Paragon and I wonder what I should look
for in one. I don't want to buy a Paragon and then discover that a later
version had some feature that I can't add to it. For example, what was
the difference between the original Paragon and the Paragon II. I think
I've heard of a firmware upgrade being offered by someone other than
TenTec, what are the details on this?
