(Technical Standards) section 97.315 and 97.317. I will quote part of
97.317. (a) "To receive a grant of type acceptance, the amplifier must
satisfy the spurious emmision standards". (3) "Driven with at least 50W
mean RF input power" (c) "Type acceptance may be denied---when---" (6)(i)
The amplifier must "Not be capable of acheiving designed output power when
driven with less than 40W mean RF input power."(iii) "Not exibit more gain
than permitted by paragraph (c)(6)(ii) of this section when driven by an RF
input signal of less than 50W mean power"
So you see it boils down to an amplifer must not be able to reach it
designed power or gain when it is driven by less than 50 watts. This
prevents it from being used with a CB rig. Look over your Rule Book--it
