I like this list after "Lots of filters...".

I'd disagree with dumping the front panel and full digital control. What
good is a radio that *requires* buying a PC to run? What if I don't run
Windoze(tm), which would most likely be the supported OS (and I use the
term OS loosely)? Having a computer interface shouldn't preclude having
a user interface on the radio. At some point, it seems to me that
digital everything becomes just adding doodads and complexity (and
noise, BTW) to achieve what's done more reliably, inexpensively,
elegantly, and yes, even better, with oft-maligned analog design. Both
analog and digital methods have their places in top end radio design.
