1208 question

   I noticed in the QST review article on the 1208 six meter transverter (June, 
   July, or August '96) an additional shield between the circuit board and the 
   three SO239 connectors.  My 1208 was one of the early (November '94) 
   shipments and does not have this shield.  Why was this shield added?  
   Comments please.
