Audio AGC pop

Gang,

I don't have the circuitry, but there is a simple mod for Omni A, C, and D
that can be used to decrease the AGC time constant ("Fast" AGC), which
eliminates the popping, or you can disable the AGC altogether.  After about
six months after I bought my new Omni A in 1980, I disconnected the AGC
completely, and never missed it!

I'm certain that the engineers at T-T can recommend a simple fix to this
problem.
