[TenTec] Mikes for Omni VI

Hello all. I would very much like to get experiences, ideas on
microphones to use with the OmniVI (mine has the option 3 upgrade which
I highly recommend). When I first got the rig, I tried my Heil HC-5 and
received reports of loss of low frequencies. After checking the rig
specs I concluded the mike didn't have sufficient output. I built a very
small, wide response preamp to fit inside the mike head and this
corrected the problem. However, I would like to know what "the group"
uses. My phone use is for ragchew (while DXing is typically CW) so I
like a mike that is neither "muffled" or "tinny". Any response would be
