Just some comments on some of the recent postings --

Re: BAND MODULES AND THEIR RELIABILITY
So far no problems with mine, but I barely ever change the module.
Thanks for the suggestion on lubricating the connecting points.
Something like a graphite lube would probably work well. Does anyone
have other suggestions about periodic maintenance that should be
done on the Scout and other Ten-Tec radios?

Re: SHIPPING OUT SPARES FOR KITS
I'm not sure how often Scott (or whomever) reads the email, but I can
say that when they do receive something, the Ten-Tec folks have been
very prompt about shipping me spares in the past. In the past few
years, I have requested many spare parts and accessories (cables,
enclosures, electronic components), and the response from Ten-Tec
has been consistantly perfect.

2m KIT STATUS
I'm still building my 2 meter kit. I've been building it for over a
year now. Spare time is hard to find, but the assembly stage is almost
done. I am having a problem with the transmit section -- I can hear
my transmissions on a nearby HT, but can't even hit the local repeater
with a high gain antenna. This obviously tells me where to look, but
now if I could find the time to retrace my work! Great fun though.

NOTES FOR TEN-TEC:
My only suggestion for Ten-Tec regarding this kit: provide the non-
metallic coil adjusting tool in the kit. I too broke the VCO tuning
coil after trying to fabricate such a tool from all sorts of household
objects.

Thanks for the call a short while ago regarding some work I had asked
to be done on a radio I just picked up from the "used" list. It
sounds like the work was unnecessary, I'm trusting their judgement,
and they're saving me money, and they're the ones who made the phone
call. Keep up the good work.
