The jump is when the up comes in to take f correction control and the PTO
has gone so long on its own that it is on the hairy edge.

Incidentally, my Scout has never drifted, even at Field Day on battery
power in a tent last June.  Guess I am lucky, it is about 2 years old.

I agree but that implies that if the PTO is not drifting then it dosen't
make an difference which keyer is used. The question, as
I see it, how do you evaluate your PTO to determine if it is no longer in
spec and requires repair?
