[TenTec] Bencher Paddle + Omni D ???

Greetings to all in T T Land,

I have an Omni D with the electronic keyer that came with the purchase.
Question... Is it possible to wire in my Bencher Paddles to the "D" without a
lot of *Rocket Science* involved? I'm on holiday and the ol' brain is taking
full advantage of the time, Hi Hi.
It came to mind that I would love to use the Bencher in place of the TT Keyer,
but it is also obvious that the hook up is way different.
Anyone out there tried this route before?
