My original Omni VI would experience "lockups" on occasion. Mostly when the
CW tuning rate was set to .83, although it WOULD occasionally lock when set
at a higher rate. This required a hard reset to regain control of the rig.
Oh, another change with the original Omni was that occasionally the CW
offset would reset itself to 000

Now that I have the Option 3 upgrade to the Omni VI+, my tuning rates and
LP settings just change at random.

I do not have the computer connected to the rig for any remote control,
although I occasionally operate RTTY. However, the random changings of the
settings occur when either switching modes or simply turning the radio on.
I usually leave the PS powered up most of the time.

BTW, I believe I was the original poster about the random settings changes
and I have received personal responses from several other Omni VI+ owners
which have not been posted to the general group. The problem appears to be
a fairly familiar experience to a number of owners.

In fact, One hame even said that Ten Tec sent him a new EPROM but the
problem is still occurring for him.

I still love the radio and it's performance, but I'm getting the hit that
there's a design flaw somewhere.
