[TenTec] Why Stop Here ? MFJ Cleartone replacement

Part of the reasoning for switching to the Cleartone speaker is to use the
stock enclosure of the PS or Hercules II amp. I also want to point out that the
larger speakers you mentioned would give you better dynamic range but remember
that dynamic range is not what you want if you are a CW operator as am I. The
other problem is the lack of power, watts, to drive the speaker as specs
require. You are sort of pushing it a little with the Cleartone speaker as it
is rated for 5W min, and it would perform even better with a full 5W. The Omni
VI+ and most other Ten Tec rigs use about 1 to 1.5 watts audio output at 4
ohms, this is consistent with most HF rigs today. As most of us run our rigs
with the AF knob rarely turned past the 10 o'clock setting the power of audio
output is very minimal <0.5W most of the time. In this case remember you're not
in Texas or maybe you are but regardless BIGGER is not BETTER, in this
particular situation.
