I think we Ten-Tec users should be more friendly to the person who
wondered onto this reflector, asking about comparisons between the Icom
IC-706 and the Alinco DX-70.

I'd suggest he also think about the Ten-Tec Scout. While it only runs
50 watts output, it's the ideal mobile rig since it has few controls to
distract you while on the road and a very large digital readout. The
variable Jones filter is also simple to use and great for cutting out
adjacent QRM. It's one little knob, not a lot of confusing bells and
whistles.

I'm in the process of installing my Scout mobile. It takes up very
little room and has great sound. I love my Scout!

I'm also happy that Ten-Tec's friendly service department is readily
available. I think we should show the unfortunate riceaholics that
Ten-Tec users are friendly and we're ready to help them "kick the rice
box habit."
