Thanks John, I own a Scout and hear the nay sayers tell me all the time what
a poor radio it is but you know something not one of those who has bashed my
scout, has ever owned one or even operated one..
Sucess speaks for It's Self.. the Scout Rx is top notch.. and the TX even at
fifty watt leavels competes very well with other much more costly rigs on
the market today.

I've owned mine for about 4 years also. in that time I've worked DXCC QRP
with it mostly on 30 and 40 meters.. So don't let anyone bash this fine
effort by Ten Tec to give us a radio that competes with the best of them and
at price that many new hams can afford. It Just a fine little rig.. Great
fun to Operate and simple to get freindly with..

I too have be licensed for many years , and have operated many rigs
including collins, drake , yaseu, kenwood and a variety of older stuff and
homebrew.. And will tell you that for 549 buck the scout is a value.. And
american Made too.

Are there things that could have been improved upon yes, receive audio
noise caused by the digital readout for one.. but that's minor problem,
Overall it's a fine rig and a wonderful asset to my shack. I hardly ever
use anyother rig anymore.
73 to all
