[TenTec] ITU Conference 1998

[Ten-Tec, Inc., Amateur Radio Sales]

The International Telecommunications Union will be meeting at
the Minneapolis Convention Center in Minneapolis, MN. for four
weeks in October and November.  Delegates are expected to attend
from 184 countries.  In conjunction, a special call sign (W98ITU) 
has been issued by the FCC and will be used on HF SSB and CW to 
commemorate the event.  

At the request of the ARRL, Ten-Tec has loaned a complete 
Ten-Tec HF station including a Ten-Tec Omni-VI Plus and Hercules 
II solid state linear amplifier, for use by the special event 
station from the Convention Center.  The Convention Center 
station expects to be active weekdays during daytime hours, 
with the W98ITU callsign being put into use at other locations 
during the off-hours of the conference.  Dates of operation are
October 12 through November 9.  A special QSL card will be 
available as well for those making a contact.
