Not so! You only get about a nanosecond delay per foot of cable. To
accomodate relays you need 10s of milliseconds, e.g. the delay of ten
million feet of cable!

Collins specified the length of the RF cable because the linears had no
tuned input and relied on the tuned output of the S-line or KWM2 exciter
for linearity. The cable lenght was critical for that to work correctly.
It may work with other tube rigs, but probably isn't any help at all
with solid state exciters.
