Yes, I discovered my OMNI-5 was wide open DC wise, years ago.
I made an oath years ago that all of my antennas would have direct, DC =
to earth grounds, e.g., folded unipole vertical. No more clicking arc =
sounds in my tuners, and a direct connection to ground outside of the =
shack at all times for lightning.
However, my earlier post had nothing to do with this topic; it was only =
about RF being picked up from a local receiving antenna.
