Methinks thou art trying to pull my lower verticle appendage (leg).
In case you are serious, try getting the antenna away from the bycycle
material a bit.  Make a mount and clamp it on.  Then use your MFJ antenna
analyser to see if it is resonant at your chosen frequency.  If not adjust
it accordingly.  I suppose you are going to tell me next that the small
lighting generator will not power the radio?  Well I do not have a 1340, so
you are on your own there.  I use a TT Scout.  Not a bad radio for the
price.  I am thinking of a radio similar to the ICOM 706 and wishing TT
made one.
