I guess thatsince most people run the gain wide open, the manufacturers

You might also consider the $ 300 computer controlled RX 320. I've
read some good things about it on this reflector and you can try 
the software by downloading it from the Ten Tec site. PC control
may be the future of showtwave receivers, except the portable
variety.

P.S. How generally available is the SP325?
