I'd have to agree with Jerry..... there's absolutely NO need for a
"big muff" capacitor in a field strength meter -- especially if it's
an un-tuned version.  Well.... for that matter, there's no need to have
a biggie like that in a TUNED version of a field strength meter!

Then the book is WRONG.

It might be a tantalum but they aren't common in 2500 uf. There's no
need for such a value in a field strength meter. None whatsover.
