In the old days, I also used Easy Off to clean boatanchors
like old Johnson rigs.  Like a previous poster, I observed 
occasional damage to cabinet paint.  Ended up having to
repaint a few....  Now when I have a rig with a dirty switch 
or pot, I save a step and dunk the whole rig in paint stripper 
I get wholesale from a local car shop.
