Hey! I already turn out the light in the shack.  When I'm
operating in a contest, I don't need to see anything but the
radio, the keyboard, the computer monitor, my paddles (next to my
keyboard), and my antenna switch (LEDs).  The ambient light from
those devices makes for some really ethereal
operating.....besides, it reduces the visual distractions and it
allows me to divert my energy resources--I prefer my watts in the
radio form not the light form.
