Well, there goes remote operation, regular RS232 ports are limited to a fairly
short run, especially in an RF unfriendly environment. Too bad they didn't make
the interface state-of-the art. oh well....

Standard serial port, not USB. The software is very simple and works
fine on Windows 3.1, which has no USB support.
