[TenTec] 283 PTO Rebuilt

Hi gang,
    Drove over to Ten-Tec the other day & picked up a rebuild kit for a
recently purchased 283 VFO.  I removed the main tuning knob & tried to
remove the main tuning dial skirt, but it won't budge.  Don't want to bend
the dial, so after tips on removing would be appreciated.
    Also would appreciate any other information on rebuilding the PTO that
anyone can provide.
