[TenTec] Scratchy Receive on Paragon I

Jerry,
I've never seen a Paragon but the problem your talking about sounds like
a classic solder joint failure. Because of it being on xmit and rx both
and only on 2 bands would mean it would be probably on a board that is
used for both rx and tx as well as having tuned circuits for each band
like a band pass board on the rx front end which is used in tx as well.
If you can find a part of it that is used for 80 and 160 both it would
really help. I would turn the rig on and press around on the boards to
see if you can zero in on it. If no loose solder joints can be found than
check the switching diodes on boards that have tuned circuits and diode
switching. Another thing to check is the plug in jumpers and pins on the
boards, sometimes just cleaning these does wonders. Ten Tecs are like
fine sports cars you can't really appreciate them till you get under the
hood.
