I agree Caity. Competition helps get better products
to the market. I just buit an Ellecraft K2 with all
the options for a friend of mine and I waited two
weeks after it was done to call him up and give it to
him. That radio is real sweet and I think it give any
radio out there a run for the money. It has great
ergonomics, excellent sensitivity, filtering and
rejection. The neatest thing about assembling it is
that the first circuit that is assembled is the
frequency counter section including the front panel
display. During the remainder of the assembly it is
used as a frequency counter to align the receiver!
Once built it can still be used as a frequency
counter. I was real reluctant to give that radio up.
Like you Caity I also have some imported items like a
Yeasu FT-90 dual band mobile rig. I also have an AOR
DDS-2 external VFO for my Collins KWM-2. I tend to buy
US made products if they are as good or better than an
imported radio. I have had too many nightmares with
YeaComWood customer service (Oxymoron) than I care to
remember. With Ten Tec I have nothing but praise.
