Yes, I think TT needs something between the Scout and the Omni VI that can
be used fixed, portable, or mobile.  I seem to remember a rather long thread
on this a couple of years ago where we were submitting our ideas to the list
on what this basic rig should have as features.  As I recall many people
seemed to have a problem "letting go" of many features already in the Omni
VI and "wished" them into this hypothetical rig, thus increasing the
hypothetical price to beyond the hypothetical target figure ($1200 - $1400).

Hi Walt and the group.

The niche you mention was formerly filled by the Delta II.  I have one and
absolutely love it.

I wonder how many of us would buy a Delta III (Delta 2K?) if it came in at
about $1200 or so.  I think a new xcvr positioned one or two notches above
the little entry level oriental rigs, having serious CW capabilities and
the ability to be controlled like a Pegasus might just be a winner.

How about a Pegasus with a remote front panel?  I could see having the
usual controls plus several additional user configurable buttons (F-keys?)
and knobs that can be programmed for a particular user's application.

Comments? Ideas? Flames?
