Bill,

There are several links to reviews at the TenTec web
site: http://www.tentec.com.  All of them are quite
favorable.  I guess the main thing to consider is do
you mind having the radio tied to a computer.  I ended
up getting a Sony ICF-SW7600G last year.  It is
portable and a little cheaper and also has syncronous
detection circuitry.  If I had to do it again, I think
I might go with the TenTec.  But if you want
portability, the Sony or a Sangean might be the way to
go.
