Hi Bill,
What kind of leads do you have going into the rear connectors? I had to
put solenoid rf chokes in the computer control wires and leads to the rtty
jacks, before my RF problems went away. Even the external speaker jack can
be a problem. The speaker in my 961 PS is OK, but if I plug in the speaker
that is in my Herc II amp, the transceiver goes bananas.
73,
Ken W7TS
P.S mine is a O-VI, but I'm sure they behave the same is this regard as did
my paragon before.

Subject: [TenTec] OMNI V -- RF Leakage
- 10-yr old OMNI V.
Severe RF leakage. Shuts down xmt. above 40 watts or so, and you can hear
it on cw signal, according to one listener report.
- SWR < 1.5:1 on couple diff ant's
- Changed external coax cables.
- Opened rig - RF enclosure was loosely secured to chassis (two missing
screws), but no change after replacing screws and tightening heat sink (no
surprise).
Any ideas?? Back to Ten-tec??
