Paul: I have worked for 25+ years as a governmental purchasing official. Your explanation of "FOB- Shipping Point" is exactly
correct. It means that title to the goods being shipped transfers from the seller (you) to the buyer when the goods are picked-up by
the carrier at the point of shipment (Jacksonville) . In this case the carrier is United Parcel Service. Therefore; once the goods
were picked-up by the carrier, title transferred from the seller (you) to the buyer. Therefore, you were not the legal owner of the
goods when they were being transported by the carrier. The goods were owned by the buyer. Therefore, any loss of the goods is the
buyer's responsibility, not the seller's (your's). Common business practice dictates that you are not liable for the alleged loss
because the goods did not belong to you. They belong to the buyer and it is the buyer's responsibility to handle alleged losses with
the carrier. - 73's- Sherrill W. k4own
