[TenTec] Headset/microphone

Has anyone had experience with the "MODEL TR-2000 PROFESSIONAL
COMMUNICATIONS HEADSET" from Warren Gregoire for use with an Omni
6+?  Does it require a pre-amp? I have a pair of their listen only
headphones which I like very much but want a boom mic. I love the
TT 705 mic for general use but it's not convenient for contesting
where I need to face my computer and keep both hands on the
keyboard.
