Bill,
	I used my Centaur with my IC-765, and it worked great.  I think you may
even be in better shape with the 1000MP because (if I remember
correctly), Yaesu copied Ten-Tec's keying loop (TX-EN, TX-out) design. 
Even if not, TT has designed it so that the rig keying can be controlled
thru the amp, thereby providing inexpensive but very effective QSK
without hot-keying anything.
