[TenTec] Jupiter question

Do you think anyone is keeping a list of the requested feature enhancements
for the Jupiter? It would be very useful as it would keep the need to
address the same questions here on the reflector as each new Jupiter owner
discovers some minor (or major!) functional shortcoming!!!

No question this could easily be accomplished in the pegasus emulation mode
with a simple mod to the "tune" button object code. I'm sure Carl or Ten
Tec
(or you, if you like to do a bit of programming) could easily accomplish
this.
By the same token, I'm sure the tune button interpreter code in the normal
front panel mode could be modified to go to a programmable value with out
much trouble, but Ten Tec will have to do that, and I don't know if they
want to spend the time.
I agree that it would be a nice option, and I believe they could easily do
it. Maybe if enough folks request it, they will eventually add this option.
For now, I guess we will just have to manually make the power adjustment
before tuning, and then change it back.

Not logical in the sense that TT should have provided the ability to reduce
the output for the Tune function. My auto antenna tuner needs only 5W to
tune and since the SWR can go up when it is tuning it is much better if the
minimum power is used. I would hope that the power out for tune can be set
independently of the power out for the tune position, using software. And
that TT will add this to the next version of the software.

I don't know what to tell you. I run a amp set for 450 watts CW output with
my Jupiter set at 42% and when I go to TUNE I sure have 450 watts out of
the
amp.
