[TenTec] Omni 6+ with a Zipper?? Help!!

Been there, done that. In fact, if you have another receiver next to your
OMNI, it will hear the zipper too. Move your hand around the front panel
(especially in front of the keypad) and see if it increases and decreases
in strength. For my rig, it was some bypassing that was needed to lower
the noise, Ten Tec did a pretty good job of re routing wires behind the
keypad and bypassing some lines. I found that there are some "hot"
sections on the digital board (open the cover and move your finger near
some of the componenents to hear the noise come and go). One day, I might
construct a plate or two to cover the board and shield it better. There
is someone out there who did some better grounding to the board and put
some toroids on the wiring coming in and out of the compartment there (and
there are pictures on the website showing the work) ... this might be a
solution, too. Look around for that, if you don't find it, I know I have
a reference to it somewhere.
