[TenTec] More CW-Only Rig

I don't think a CW-only super rig like that would be a big seller, therefore
manufacturers would shy away from such a project. With the influx of all
the "pretend Hams" coming into our ranks, the 5 WPM is just a minor hurdle
on the way to their "Appliance Operator" license anyway and most of these
people will never use CW. To encourage more use of the CW mode I would like
to see "CW ONLY" DXpeditions and special event stations.

Subject: [TenTec] More CW-Only Rig
A fair number of the responses I got to my first posting were centered on
telling me why a new CW-only rig couldn't be built. And a few were even busy
telling me that SOMEONE ELSE was building such a rig. How about, instead of
discussing why a certian rig COULDN'T be built, let's talk about why such a
rig SHOULD be built.
As I pointed out, CW is being de-emphasized. A rig built from the bottom up
as a CW-only rig, and completely optimized to make it absolutely the best CW
rig available, would certain help to generate more interest in the mode,
extending the life of the mode. And, if CW has to die (as some say), this
may be our last hurrah for the mode.
And for those of us that love CW, it may not be too much longer before the
manufacturers stop building CW into their multi-mode rigs. A top-notch CW
rig might be the thing to carry us CW lovers on forever afterwards.
