Gentlemen:  Please be advised that on h.f., it is a complete waste of time and money to install an antenna tuner at the base or center of the antenna when it can be installed easily at the rig.  This was explained in great detail by Mr. Walter Maxwell in his excellent book and as published in his original articles in QSTand as reciently discussed by previous posts on this board. - Corn - k4own.
