[TenTec] " A Low vswr will kill you !"

Tuning through a ferrite cored balun is fraught with difficulties, which
sometimes are identified by the balun core heating, sometimes by lack of
signal, sometimes by the tuner heating, and sometimes by excessive
harmonics. Often none of these are the desired result. A balun can be
built with a large core to handle higher impedances better, but that
will make it poor on 12 and 10 meters.

The often poor performance of a ferrite cored balun is masked by the
difficulties of measuring power and swr in a balanced line.
