Jim: Thank's for the historical documentation. It is also interesting to me.  How come your explanation never made it to the ARRL Antenna Book?   "Radiation occurs from accellerated point charges" is the only scientific explanation I have ever seen that explains why an antenna radiates ! - Corn- k4own
