[TenTec] Weird Jupiter Xmit Problem

Hi Nathan:
I appreciate your comments, they are US made and are handy to get a hold
of but:
As a ham of 50 years and prior to using the Jupiter I used a Japan Radio
Co. JST-145 with absolute no problems in the exact same setup, same ant.
same amp. same location, all I did was plug the Jupiter in with no external
accessories. When TT service told me that the Jupiter was DSP computer based
and would not work in any RF environment and I would have to move my ant. at
least 100 feet away from the shack, that was the straw that broke the camels
back. I'm 70 years old, and having had a stroke last year I can't just up
and move ants., put up and climb towers, especially when the RF doesn't
bother anything else I have. Which I should comment, I do have a Japan Radio
Co. NRD545DSP receiver that I use on a separate antenna with no problems due
to it's being DSP, of course it's a 40 bit DSP processor and built like a
tank. No RF gets into it when I mute it. Not like the 16 bit Jupiter. I have
the ICOM IC-718 as a back up rig and the more I use it the more I'm
convinced it's a superior rig to the Jupiter.
Of course with the JRC equipment I do have the advantage of US support
from Universal Radio in Ohio that is factory authorized repair.
