[TenTec] Scout drift fix?

Hi All,
I have a close friend of mine does a lot of cw/mobile op with his TS-50. It 
served him well for many year but  recently fix $$ are mounting. I 
suggested getting a used Scout but he claims it has a drift problem. I know 
I had one many years ago when they first came out and seem to remember it 
would occasionally "jump" freq but I think that was fixed? Are there other 
issues with this rig? Can any current users confirm this? Figured this was 
the "source" if any one would know the answer!
