[TenTec] Omni VI+ vs Icom 756-Pro

Nathan, I have to echo your statements based upon my experience with the
PRO over the past several months.

But, I would take minor issue with the notion that the spectrum scope, dual
receive, keyers, etc. are "bells and whistles." Maybe a few years back they
would have been considered as such, but any "current" top-line radio should
have those capabilities. They, and the other features of the PRO, are now
just as vital a part of my operating tool kit as the more customary
features that we all discovered a few years ago and have come to expect on
a quality radio.

I am *not* saying that the OMNI VI is not a good radio - it is just a very
different radio from the PRO in its design and implementation. The PRO and
the tools it provides happen to fit my needs almost perfectly, and with
nearly 56 years of knob-twisting to look back upon, I have worked up some
pretty good "needs."   <:} I am sure that many others feel exactly the same
about their OMNI VI!

But, "bells and whistles?" Nope, not any longer . . .
