[TenTec] Pegasus Com Port Conflict

Any time I open the Pegasus program I get a Com Port #1 already open 
message.I have to close the program, unplug the serial interface line and 
re-connect the line. After this it comes up normally and initializes . I 
have only had this problem since I have been using  Windows ME. Is the 
problem with settings or ME? Any input will be appreciated.-Lou KD3BS
