[TenTec] Pegasus & audio in PC speakers

Hello...I'm a first-timer posting so please be gentle!
I have a Pegasus sitting atop a standard computer cart, above the PC and separated by about two feet.  I use powered speakers on the PC, and even with the PC output muted, I pick up audio in the speakers, at a constant volume level, as long as the cable from line-out to line-in is connected.  I use a shielded cable and have tried choking it.  As soon as I unplug either end of the cable the audio is gone.

Suggestions?
