[TenTec] Paragon display fault

John,

The problem may be capacitor C9 on the display control board, the 
one immediately behind the display.  It is part of a voltage multiplier 
stage used to generate the high voltage needed by the display.

Replace that, and while you are at it, you might want to replace C8 
which is used in the reset circuit of the display controller.

A quick check would be to switch the display to low brightness.  Look 
for a 2 circuit jumper on a 4 pin jack in the middle of the display 
control board.  It will likely be positioned on the top two pins.   Move 
it to the bottom two pins.   IF the display works properly, you can be 
almost sure C9 is the culprit.
