[TenTec] Delta 580 + Amplifier QSK

Dear Fellow Ten Tec users.

I have a Delta I (580) and a home brew pair of 811A's amplifier.  Has
anyone on the reflector set up a QSK system with something like this?

I'm especially interested in operating SSB on VOX.  The Delta has a relay
that I can use to key the amp, but I think if I'm in VOX, when I start
talking the Delta is generating RF and it will go into the open contacts in
the amplifier until the relay switches over.  This is BAD sequencing -
every transmission the Delta will look into an open load for a few
milliseconds.  I know it's protected, but this is not the way to go.

Any suggestions?
