I speak this in a whisper, but I find the Heathkit SB200 a hard amp to beat.
It can be had for cheap, it is a very simple unit,  easy to fix, parts are
very easy to obtain. My Argosy can drive it to almost 500 watts, and it uses
a pair of 572B's.  It is very quiet with only the
snap of the TR relay, and the front meter to tell you it's working. Long
live the "Green Pig"
